NordStar Airlines introduces a new luggage transportation concept

From the beginning of the autumn-winter schedule NordStar Airlines introduces a new concept for carrying luggage on regular flights. On flights performed starting from October 28 the free luggage allowance will be determined on the basis of the number of pieces. The new system for determination of the luggage allowance will be differentiated depending on the class of service and fare and will allow passengers to choose the most favorable fares depending on the amount of luggage carried.

Along with the changes in the luggage allowance rules the carry-on luggage allowance will also change, passengers will be able to carry twice as much carry-on luggage in the cabin. Starting from October 28, the carry-on luggage allowance will increase and amount to one piece of up to 10 kg (up to 15 kg for business class) per passenger. Limiting dimensions of carry-on luggage will remain the same — up to 115 cm in the aggregate of three dimensions (55x40x20 cm).

Increase in carry-on luggage allowance will allow passengers traveling with a small amount of things to choose more cost-effective luggageless fares and save on the non-demanded luggage transportation service.

The luggageless fare will appear in the line of economy class fares. Economy Beneficial group fares will provide for transportation of carry-on luggage only, increased up to 10 kg. Luggage allowance rules for Economy Easy fares will also change and allow to carry one piece of luggage up to 23 kg. Business class fares will also include two levels of fares providing for the transportation of one or two pieces of luggage of up to 30 kg respectively. Number of luggage pieces allowed for free transportation will be indicated in the ticket in accordance with the fare level.

Rules concerning transportation of baby carriages and wheelchairs on NordStar Airlines flights will remain unchanged — they will not be taken into account in the general luggage allowance and will be transported free of charge. Passengers will still be able to transport one set of skiing/mountain skiing equipment free of charge.

Innovations in the system of determination of the luggage allowance will allow to unify the NordStar Airlines luggage transportation rules and bring them in line with generally accepted international standards currently accepted in the majority of airlines in the world.

On flights performed up to the end of the summer schedule the old luggage allowance system will remain — from 10 to 20 kg of free luggage depending on the fare and 5 kg of carry-on luggage.
